Plano Balloon Festival
APRS will be used in our balloon safety tracking operations. 802.11b will be used for communications at the launch field.

CCCC Course: EECT-2437 Wireless Telephony Systems/(DATA)  -  Build wireless digital networks that carry both voice and data.   Create wireless networks where users can roam about the building, while still staying connected to an application, using mobile IP technology.  Secure wireless networks by choosing the correct encryption algorithm and right authentication protocol to match a company’s security policy.  Cost $149 for 96 contact hours.

Plano Balloon Festival
The Plano Amateur Radio Klub provides public safety communications support to the Plano Balloon Festival, held annually in Plano, TX. The event is held in Oak Point Park (near the Collin County Community College Spring Creek Campus). The club provides saftey communications for the balloon flights which are held twice a day each day. Richardson Regional Med Center Wild Ride -
The route for this bike ride is from a location near the Nortel building to Lavonia Park on the east side of the dam at Lake Lavon.  Three rest stops are to be covered.  We provided voice, APRS and digital communications.

Due to the popularity of the NTX APRS Workshop last year, we were asked to do it again at this year's Hamcom.
